A short introduction to lip care

Join me in a beauty adventure that will leave you feeling pampered and ready to steal hearts away.
Did you know that our lips only get moisture from the water we drink, our saliva, and the lip balm we use?
Lips have no sebaceous glands to hydrate the lips naturally and depending on the weather shifts, air conditioning, sun exposure, and so on, they can feel just fine or, on the contrary, feel dry and chapped.
There are 2 steps to achieve the pouty, soft, luscious lips of your dreams.
Prepping your lips before make-up will make sure your lipstick stays on longer.

Step 1: Exfoliate

To keep lips looking their best, gently exfoliate with a scrub before applying your go-to lip color. The Bubblegum lip scrub from Lush is the one I keep going back to – it seals in all the moisture thanks to the organic jojoba oil, not to mention it smells beyond amazing!!

 Step 2: Moisturise

Soothing ingredients like beeswax, cocoa butter, shea butter, vitamin E, honey, coconut oil, apricot kernel oil will lock in the moisture and do wonders for dry lips.
Apply with a superclean finger (product contamination is real!) or straight from a tube twice a day or whenever lips feel off.
Stay away from any derivatives from petroleum, which is a mineral oil derivative and will only create a protective lip seal on the lips but will not properly nourish them. In this case, the results are only short term, and you would need to reapply more often than you think.

Here are some of my ultimate pamper products, have you tried them already?

LaRoche Posay Cicaplast never disappoints, it is soothing and moisturizing and the effect lasts a very long time. It’s a staple in my pro-make-up kit. Because of its matte finish, it would be an amazing gift for your partner too. Thank me later.

Lip Tint
Lipstick Queen – Frog Prince
Although it is officially a lipstick, I use it as a lip tint. It has a magical buttery texture because of the shea butter and vitamin E and leaves a fresh ‘bitten lip’ pink shade on my lips. Keep in mind that it is so cleverly made that the green will adapt to your own PH to perfectly match and flatter your complexion. More shades available.
